Predictions

11-5.  That would mean the Pack would have to run the table the rest of the year.  While not impossible, not very likely.

They would have to overcome the loss of Nick Barnett.  Arguably the heart and soul of the D.  As they've shown already, they have the best secondary in the NFL, but the run D is atrocious, thanks to the loss of Cullen Jenkins.

For me, the maturation of Nick Collins under the tutelage of Charles Woodson and Al Harris has been the best part of the season.  Along with the emergance Tramon Williams and Aaron Rouse.

My friend SC believes it takes 30 starts for a QB to fully dictate a game.  If so, I'm alright with ARod.  I know this goes against the grain, but maybe he should just take off more, ala early Steve Young.

Thank you KGB.

Thank you KGB, for being a true Green Bay Packer.

I won't forget that October night in 2002 when he got the INT the night Favre, as TT would say "Was like MJ in the 1st quarter." and took the Bears back to the woodshed once again.

I was at Peace, getting yelled at by unruly Bears fans.

11 -5 or bust.

Packers Int Celebration

I'm not going to lie, I think the Pack DB's new int celebration is great.

Let's see #10

Worst case scenario:  Rodgers can't go on Sunday, and rookie Matt Flynn gets the start.

What's wrong with that?
I mean, besides he's a rookie 7th round pick.

TT and MM knew there was this possibility when the season started.  Flynn's always played well in big games.  I see this more of an opportunity to learn something about the offense.  Either or, I think the defense and special teams could win this game.

Oh yeah, and Lil' Wayne is a Packer fan.

Premium Bacon Mac and Cheese

So I haven't been to that many nice Italian restaraunts recently, but do any of them serve bacon mac and cheese?
Seriously, because it sounds like something a little kid would make, or a single dude who isn't worried about heart attacks would make.

Al Harris out

The loss of Al Harris for the season, if that's what it is, will be very tough for the Pack.

That being said, it just means that Tramon Williams and Will Blackmon will have to step up, as well as (and this worries me), Jarrett Bush and Pat Lee.  Just as important, is the health of Bigby and Collins.  I thought Rouse was just alright, and Peprah didn't look that great.

How good is Woodson on a broken toe?

I think we'll find out a lot about the secondary this week, because I think the DL and LBs will step up and shut down Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn and the rest of the Bucs RBs.  I hope Barnett's good to go this week, as I don't know that much about Desmond Bishop yet.

Only 2 - 0

I'm not drinking the Packers kool aid just yet.  It's only 2-0, and it was the Vikings (0-2) and Lions (0-2).  Although I didn't expect Aaron Rodgers to play this well.  This week will be a good test though.  Dallas on national tv on Sunday night.  So far he's given no indications he can't handle the pressure, which is partially what worries me.

I thought I'd be watching the two best teams in the nfc last night, but it turns out the best team is still the Giants, and the second might just be the Pack.  Both the Eagles and the Cowboys defenses were run up and down against all night.  Still it's only week 2, so what do we really know so far?
We know the Rams, Lions, Bengals, Chiefs and any other 0-2  teams haven't really shown up yet.  We know that Wade Phillips hasn't won a playoff game as a head coach, and Tony Romo hasn't won a playoff game as a starter yet.
The Giants won the Super Bowl, and the Patriots are mortal again.

Congrats to Big Z for his no hitter on Sunday night.  I know that made tons of Bears fans a lot happier on Monday.  That and the Sox sweep.

Packers black shoes.

I would have to say Aaron Rodgers first start was successful. Not great, but he what he needed to do, and the Packers got the W.
Also, I can't ever remember the Packers wearing black shoes, except maybe with a throwback uni. According to http://www.uniwatchblog.com/, it was the first time they were worn since 1975.  It also means every team in the NFC north now wears black shoes.

I believe...

Tramon "the truth" Williams will be the next great Packer DB. He, Bigby, Collins, and Rouse should be a good foundation for the next few years.

C Woodson

I don't like to make predictions, but I think Charles Woodson will have a great year.

And yes, I like Matt Flynn over Brian Brohm because he's played in bigger games, and the last Flynn in GB had a decent rookie year. Tom Flynn #41, 1984.

A few baseball notes:

I think it was fine for the Braves to throw at Soriano for showboating, but not at the head.
If Sabathia runs the table, he deserves the Cy Young.
And yes, the Brew Crew will make the playoffs.

5 Best QBs of all time.
1. Joe Montana
2. Johnny Unitas
3. John Elway
4. Brett Favre
5. Dan Marino
Hands down. These are the best 5 of all time.

True story: I once argued for about 3 hours at a bar with a girl about who was better: Favre vs. Elway.
I knew Elway was better, but I didn't care, I lived in Green Bay during my formative football years, and knew what I was supposed to believe. I argued w/ her from 11ish or so, until bar time 2am. Because I remember the lights going on. Anywhoo, moral of the story, I was c-blocked by her friend.

GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I've had the privilege of having Favre as the Pack's QB for the last 14 years.

Aaron Rodgers 1st Pre-Season Start

Was alright. Could've been better, could've been worse.

Like I said at work this morning, my big concern was he and Brohm leading the WRs into the receivers.

No country for old Man

No one is bigger than the organization.

Some things just aren't meant to be.

These were the two lessons I re-learned again last night. Brett Favre would no longer be a Green Bay Packer, the organization moved on. Either or, I'm stoked to having experienced it.

Let's not be too bummed out yet, compared to Rich Campbell, he's light years ahead.

Go Pack Go!
